WOW, Charlton Hall…just wow! I cannot begin to describe how amazing this venue is. It’s definitely right up there in my favourites. A relatively new venue, it throws all of the norms out of the window. As you pull up to the venue, it looks like your normal stately home style of venue, an 18th century hall located within a private 150-acre country estate in Northumberland. There’s nothing particularly unusual about that. But once you step inside, it’s certainly head turning. Don’t get me wrong, I love the more traditional type of venues but I couldn’t help being in awe of this place. Magically quirky, Charlton Hall has its very own vibe with a fantastic attention to detail, mixing original features of the stately home with bold, unique, flamboyant and totally bonkers decor. Everywhere you look there is something different. Even the toilets are totally fascinating. The function room, set on the side of the home itself is absolutely beautiful with panoramic views and a starlit ceiling.
For this Charlton Hall wedding I was a second-shooter for Simon Hogben Photography, We had a fabulous day. Although photographing a wedding is hard work, the aching feet at the end of the day is so worth it. Especially when you get to shoot a wedding like this one. Tara and Chris got married here on a cold, but glorious sunny October day. The bride was stunning, and every bit as amazingly bright and colourful as the venue – it was easy to see why they had chosen it. Charlton Hall certainly matched their personalities. Here is a small selection from their day.
